The holidays are right around the corner! To get us in a festive mood and help tick holiday shopping off our list, there's no shortage of Christmas and holiday markets in the city. So, brave the chilly air and shop handmade goods, artisan crafts and festive treats - in the words of Buddy the Elf, only a true cotton-headed ninny-muggins would miss these!

Here's our guide to the Christmas and holiday markets happening around Toronto this 2018 holiday season...


Toronto Christmas Market

It’s hard to find a more festive experience than the annual Toronto Christmas Market. Hosted at the Distillery Historic District, it feels as though you’ve stepped back in time amidst the strings of light, wooden huts and cheerful performances. A family-friendly tradition thanks to Santa’s House, carnival rides and a life-sized gingerbread house, you’ll be able to spend quality time with loved ones while picking up pretty trinkets for the home and food for parties. Free admission on weekdays; $6.00 admission fee on weekends, starting at 5pm on Fridays. Children under 2 are free.

When:  November 15th to December 23rd, various times

Trinity Bellwoods Christmas is Coming Market

A curated selection of 70 local makers and vintage, handmade and food vendors, housed under one roof at the historic Great Hall. Visit for a day of shopping, drinks, local food and music. Whoever you are shopping for, you can be sure that perfect something for that special someone can be found at The Trinity Bellwoods Flea. Free admission. Four-legged friends are welcome.

When:  November 18th, 10am to 5pm

The One of a Kind Christmas Show

With more than 800 artisans, this is a one-stop shop for gifts for the whole family. From baked goods to children’s clothes and stunning jewellery, you’ll be able to pick up something for the little one, the significant other and even the host all in one go. With so many stalls to visit, make sure to put your feet up and eat some treats in between. Admission: $15 for adults, $8.50 for seniors, $7.50 for youth

When:  November 22nd to December 2nd. Weekdays & Saturdays: 10am to 9pm; Sundays: 10am to 6pm; Late Night Shopping: Thursday, November 29th, 10am–11pm

Swedish Christmas Fair

The two-day Swedish holiday extravaganza returns to the Harbourfront Centre with various family-friendly activities to help get you in the Christmas spirit, from craft making to holiday shopping. Warm up to the sounds of children singing carols at the Lucia Pageant, experience Sami culture, and participate in folk dancing, craft making and more. Free admission.

When:  November 24th 11am to 5pm, November 25th 11am to 4pm

Where:  Harbourfront Centre


Etsy Holiday Market

Every year, Etsy chooses a charming space to hold its annual event and this year that space is The Great Hall. The market itself highlights some of the best local artisans in Ontario, the perfect foil to the more traditional One of a Kind Show — at least on paper. Although it’s a one-day event, you’ll be able to support local in a fun and festive way. Meet the artists and makers of the online shopping site in real life while shopping for handmade and vintage goods. Features 50 local Etsy sellers from the GTA. Shop in person and avoid the shipping fees. Free admission. The first 50 visitors receive a swag bag.

When:  November 25th, 10am to 5pm

Veg Holiday Market

The Toronto Vegetarian Association understands how dedicated its community can be when it comes to the veg lifestyle, so it has put together a unique holiday market to cater to its animal-loving members. For one day, 40 local, plant-based and ethical vendors will be at Artscape Wychwood Barns. In addition to thoughtful cruelty-free gifts and vegan holiday treats, guests can enjoy an afternoon of presentations to learn tips and tricks when it comes to plant-based living during the season. Admission: $3.50

When:  November 25th, 11am to 5pm

Junction Holiday Market

A fun-filled weekend of festive activities! Starting Friday evening, a neighbourhood-wide shopping event kicks off with holiday parties and pop-up markets in locations throughout The Junction. Enjoy complimentary gift wrapping, discounts, holiday treats and more. Musical performances, the Creative Children’s Dance Centre will put on a Holiday Show in the windows of local businesses, Fay & Fluffy’s Reading is FUNdamental series and other special family events will be held throughout the weekend. A great chance to get started on your holiday gift shopping while also enjoying activities that keep the whole family entertained all weekend long! And part of the long standing Santa in The Junction tradition, be sure to visit the info booth at The Train Platform early to grab a free ticket for DIY photos with jolly old St. Nick! Free admission.

Pixel & Bristle Winter Market

The perfect place to do all your holiday shopping for your design-minded friends (and yourself!). Shop for art, cards, textiles and other crafty gifts at this semi-annual juried market organized by designers Paul Dotey, Leslie Harrod and Christopher Rouleau. In its third year, the show will feature 30 designers, illustrators, typographers and makers. This year’s event will feature the Polaris Prize Poster Sale, as well as the Snap + Tumble Letterpress Station. Free admission.

When:  December 1st to 31st, 10am to 4pm

Evergreen's Winter Village

Celebrate the holidays with the return of Evergreen's Winter Village to the Brick Works! Taste delicious treats from food trucks and local vendors, shop unique gifts at their Holiday Market, skate on their newly reopened skating rink and pick up a sustainably-grown Christmas tree from the Evergreen Garden Market. This year's Winter Village will be held in the newly redeveloped Future Cities Centre, surrounding their picturesque skating rink! Every weekend in December and the week between Christmas Eve and New Year’s. Free admission.

The Eco Lifestyle Market

Giving greener gifts this holiday season is easier than you think! The Eco Lifestyle Market has done the work for you, all you have to do is show up. Here you'll find a curated selection of 55 vendors of local handcrafted, sustainable, eco-friendly and wellness goods. Visit for a day of delicious local eats, local vendors, and cheer. Skip the mall this holiday season and get that one of a kind gift right here in your own backyard! This is green gift-giving made easy. Free admission. Four-legged friends and kiddos are welcome.

Holiday Fair in the Square

You can’t get more central than this European-style holiday market and fair at Nathan Phillips Square. Now in its third year, the Holiday Fair in the Square builds on its central skating rink with artisan crafts, gourmet snacks, a Holly Jolly Midway as well as festive drinks at the ice bar. Perfect for an outing with friends or that special someone. And if the sound of it doesn’t get you into the holiday spirit, the fair was created to raise awareness for Epilepsy Toronto with proceeds going to the non-profit. Free admission.

When:  December 1st to 23rd, various times

The Leslieville Flea Holiday Market

Looking for unique holiday gifts and a fun shopping experience? Don't miss The Leslieville Flea Holiday Market at the Jimmie Simpson Recreation Centre! Shop from over 55 vendors selling a curated selection of vintage and handcrafted items, visit their old-time photo booth for a selfie (proceeds go to CAMH!), shop for baked goods (or just treat yourself!) and listen to carols performed by University of Toronto's Glee Club. Free admission.

When:  December 8th and 9th, 10am to 5pm

Pink Market: Pink Xmas

Pink Market is a biannual sale that supports The 519 Community Centre, a charitable organization and community space dedicated to the inclusion, acceptance and awareness of LGBTQ rights in Toronto and beyond. Their aim is to give queer creators from Toronto and across Canada a platform for their work, connecting them to members of the public as well as fostering a community of LGBTQ artists and makers. The holiday edition, Pink Xmas is a curated marketplace featuring the work of 50 queer artists and makers from across Canada. Admission: Pay-what-you-can with a suggested donation of $5.

When:  December 8th, 11am to 6pm; December 9th, 11am to 5pm

Toronto Art Crawl Christmas Market

Popular for its outdoor summer art fairs, The Toronto Art Crawl brings it inside The Great Hall for the Christmas season. This year’s market features 90 local artists and designers selling photography, vintage finds, fashion and home décor, plus there are food vendors, a live DJ and a cash bar. Admission: $12 at the door, $10 online. Kids under 10 are free.

When:  December 9th, 11am to 6pm

Withrow's Winter Market

Locally handcrafted goods, artisanal foods & local farmers: the perfect opportunity to find unique gifts and delicious holiday treats! The lobby bar will be open, so grab a drink and a bite to eat while you find the perfect gifts & grab treats for that holiday party! Hosted by the Withrow Park Farmers’ Market. Free admission, and free crafts for kids.

When:  December 14th, 4pm to 9pm; December 15th, 10am to 4pm

Where:  Crow's Theatre at Streetcar Crowsnest 


Casa Loma Canadian Winter Nights

Explore the holiday magic of Casa Loma.. at night!  Wander through the dazzling lighting display in the gardens and witness famed illusionist entertainer Professor Wick's holiday themed magic show. Families are invited to visit Santa in his castle workshop, visit with wintery holiday mascots, sing along with live carolers, enjoy savory and sweet treats, hot cocoa and much more! Admission: N/A
